Light Senior Dog Food: Turkey and Rice for Weight Management

Quick answer

If your senior dog is carrying extra weight and has a sensitive stomach, a low-fat turkey and rice recipe like Naturals Senior Light is a practical choice for safe weight management.

Diagnosing and solving your senior dog's weight issue

• Symptom: Your senior dog has noticeable belly fat, reduced stamina on walks, or difficulty getting up after lying down.
• Likely cause: A diet too high in calories or fat for the dog's reduced activity level, combined with age-related metabolic slowdown.
• Corrective action: Switch to a low-fat, low-calorie senior recipe like Naturals Senior Light Turkey & Rice. Measure portions using a kitchen scale and reduce treats by 50%. Weigh your dog every two weeks to track progress.
• When to choose another option: If your dog has a known grain allergy or chronic pancreatitis, consult your vet before choosing a rice-based formula. In that case, a grain-free or prescription diet may be needed.
